A technology developed by Sinochem International’s Yangnong Chemical Group has been included in the first batch of “Advanced and Applicable Technologies” released by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). The listed technology focuses on microchannel continuous-flow catalytic synthesis of pyridine heterocyclic products and its industrial-scale application.
Pyridine and its derivatives are key raw materials in agrochemical production. However, traditional production processes are energy-intensive and generate large volumes of waste that are difficult to treat.
Over two decades of research and development, Yangnong has developed a series of core technologies including microchannel synthesis, high-efficiency catalysis and cleaner chlorination. These innovations enable tunable and controlled synthesis of two pyridine heterocyclic products and have led to the development of a complete production process based on the morpholine-propionaldehyde route, supported by proprietary intellectual property.
