Sennics, a subsidiary of Sinochem International, has launched methyl isoamyl ketone (MIAK), a key raw material for high-end rubber antioxidants, on September 1. The product is produced using Sennics’ proprietary, internationally advanced process, supporting the company’s strategy to extend and strengthen its rubber additives business while filling a domestic industry gap.
Sennics said the launch will further enhance the resilience of the chemical new materials supply chain. The company has filed three invention patents and two utility model patents related to the technology. It also established the corporate standard Q/AS971-2022 “Methyl Isoamyl Ketone” and, under the commission of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, is leading the drafting of the industry group standard “Industrial Methyl Isoamyl Ketone.”
