A project led by Yangnong Chemical Group, a subsidiary of Sinochem International, has won the First Prize for Science and Technology Progress from the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation.
The project, titled “Key Technology Development and Industrialization of High-Quality Hexamethylenediamine via the Caprolactam Route,” developed an innovative production pathway using caprolactam as the core feedstock. The approach enables a fully integrated proprietary technology chain spanning catalyst preparation, hexamethylenediamine synthesis and nylon-66 polymerization.
The breakthrough helps overcome long-standing technological barriers dominated by overseas producers in adiponitrile and hexamethylenediamine production, strengthening supply security for critical raw materials. The overall technology of this project has reached the international leading level, as appraised by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation.
